This Graphic shows the data for the impact of different orientations on the total heat gain through a building envelope annually for the city of Raipur (Composite). Considering the base case which is EW oriented as 0°, heat gains were simulated for every 15° rotation, Percentage increase in total heat gains has been shown with respect to the base case. The most ideal case is orienting the building EW

The graphic was designed to effectively communicate the relationship between the annual heat gains and different orientations. The Simulation helped to analyze how to optimally orient to control solar radiation falling on the building throughout the year.
Is there anything else you would like to mention?
From this investigation, we can learn that the optimum orientation of a building for the given conditions is EW. There is a minimum increase in gains when the given building is oriented at 165° and 15° from the base case. And building when oriented at 90° receives the maximum solar radiation and has the maximum solar gains.
