The function of this floor is mainly an office, and I would create a suitable interior atmosphere by designing glass materials and shading. Therefore, the modified version with additional glazing and shading devices, can have a positive impact on visual comfort for occupants, particularly in terms of reducing glare and improving daylighting.

For the glazing selection:
The ideal glazing for thermal comfort has a U-Value of 2-3, and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.3 to 0.5. The ideal type of glazing is double glazing with low solar gain in order to prevent overheating. After satisfying the conditions set, we decided to choose the glazing with the highest transmittance: Solexia 6mm light green.

For the shading devices:
After achieving a well-daylit space, I still need to cause various overheating problems leading to a lack of occupant comfort. Therefore, I would like to introduce a passive blind system. In winter, we would like to bring more sunlight on both the east and west sides of the building. In contrast to winter, during the summer months, we would like to block excessive sunlight to prevent overheating.

I have chosen Daylight autonomy analysis and annual glare analysis to help me to achieve ideal spatial conditions. Modifying a building to achieve as much space to the target illuminance level and reduce the percentage of sunlight exposure up to 1000 lux direct can have positive effects on both the building's performance and the well-being of its occupants. The building's interior spaces will be well-lit and comfortable for occupants, reducing the need for artificial lighting and improving overall energy efficiency. Meanwhile, the installation of double glazing with low solar gain window and shading device has decreased the glare space from 35% to 8%. Thus, the modified version with additional glazing and shading devices, can have a positive impact on visual comfort for occupants, particularly in terms of reducing glare and improving daylighting.
